With gratitude to God who sees the end from the
beginning, whose word stands the test of time and forever, I welcome
you to the official website of Abuja East District of Assemblies of
God Nigeria.
Abuja East District was officially created on the 5th October, 2009
and election conducted the same day which produced the following as
the district's pioneer executives/presbyters:
Rev. Chuks N. Ogbuji - District Superintendent
Rev. Levi Johnson - Assistant District Superintendent
Rev. Emmanuel O. Ihuoma - District Secretary
Rev. Simon O. Okpeoha - District Treasurer
Rev. Danboyi Pwajoke - Presbyter
Rev. Joseph U. Udofia - Presbyter
Rev. Sunday A. Onyekwe - Presbyter
The district took off officially in January, 2010. We sincerely
appreciate the General Superintendent who approved a take-off grant
for us through the then Care-Taker Committee.
The district's name "Abuja East" was prophetically chosen for the
following reasons:
The sun rises from the East and this depicts the rising of good and
great things in the district
The wise men who were also rich came from the East. This signifies
wisdom and riches for men and women in the District.
God sited the Garden of Eden (Paradise) in the East. This connotes
peace, progress, and God's presence in the district.
However, as a child born without teeth, we are facing challenges of
securing a permanent land for superintendent's residence and
secretariat. We all know that Abuja is a city where lands are in
millions, billions and trillions of naira. However, we are not
intimidated as the earth is of the Lord and the fullness thereof
(Psalm 24:1). Silver and gold belong to God (Hag. 2:8). In our
agenda, we have schools and hospitals also.
To this end, I appeal to our fathers and all men and women to
support the young District to stand on her two legs.
Once again, welcome and God bless Assemblies of God Nigeria, Abuja
East District. Feel free to browse through our site and make your
suggestions here as you feel like.
Thanks
Rev. Chuks N. Ogbuji
